Kraft Foods and Recipes!

So last week, everyone signed up for the Kraft Foods website for the coupons that valued up to $50 dollars. Did you know that they have some really good recipes on there? My family has tried multiple recipes from their site and we have not been disappointed yet.

This is just one of our favorites!

Prep Time: 10 min
Total Time: 25 min
Makes: 4 servings, about 2 cups each

What You Need:
1/2 lb. fettuccine, uncooked
1 Tbsp. oil
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 Tbsp. tomato paste
1 can (14-1/2 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup KRAFT Sun-Dried Tomato Dressing
1/4 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Make It:
COOK pasta as directed on package. Meanwhile, heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium heat. Add chicken; cook 8 min or until cooked through, stirring frequently. Add garlic; cook an additional 2 min., stirring occasionally.
STIR in tomato paste. Increase heat to medium-high; cook and stir 1 min. Add tomatoes, water and dressing; cook 2 min., stirring occasionally.
DRAIN pasta; toss with sauce in large serving bowl. Sprinkle with cheese.

Shopping Strategies To Save Time and Money!!

Who doesn't like to save time and money? Everyone needs more time and money all the time, so I have compiled a list of strategies for you to follow when it comes time for you to make the dreaded shopping trip!



I love to shop, but there are days when it comes to making the dreaded shopping list that I just want to throw it out the window because I know that I will spend more than I want when I go, so have a look below and implement some of these strategies to your shopping trip and see the time and money go up, up, up, and away!!!


These are your 10 Basic Shopping Strategies to saving time and money:


1. Do not shop while hungry. This is good common sense.
2. Shop with a list prepared at home (not in the car on the back of an old receipt) and stick to it!
3. Know your target price points. This will vary by region and season. For example, the price to beat on a gallon of milk in my area is currently $2.00, same for a loaf of bread.
4. Use Coupons: combine a coupon with a sale to save the most.
5. Beware of product placement strategies on shelves and endcaps. The best deals are usually high or low on shelves, and not on the endcaps.
6. Eliminate brand loyalty. Be willing to try a variety of brands depending on what is the best value.
7. Find a great deal? Stock up! Since sales only come around every 8-12 weeks, buy enough to last you through the next sale.
8. Get in, get out. Studies have shown the more time you spend inside a store, the more money you will spend. Don't dilly dally!
9. Avoid impulse buys (see number 2). Especially at the checkout stand, where prices are inflated.
10. If possible, leave the kids at home. Enough said.I had a lot more to say on this subject, but even just applying a few of these strategies to your shopping trips will ultimately save you money.

Kraft Foods Mega Coupons!!

Everyone is always looking for Kraft coupons and they have finally answered all of our prayers. They have up to $50 worth of printable coupons available on their website. It is located here. When you sign up with Kraft Foods, they will send you out some really awesome recipes and let you know when they have their coupons available to print.

FREE Redbox Monday!!

Today's code is: 6A43JK. It will expire at Midnight on 5/11/09. Head on over to you local redbox and pick up a movie on them for the night. It will have to be returned by 9pm tomorrow night. Don't forget that you can reserve your movies online at Redbox. This saves the hassle of traveling from one Redbox to another and you know that it will be waiting there for you. Cozi Organizer...

Ok, so I know that we all get a little disorganized with life from time to time. This happens a little more often for me than most, but I have been using this online calendar for about 6 months off and on. It is wonderful. You can access it here. You will have to sign up and create an account, but it is great.

Best part is that everyone in the family gets a certain color and the calendar has the activities for each person listed next to their color. It is the high tech version of color coding your calendar to each family member.

If you have not checked it out before, please do so. You will not regret it as your home will run so much smoother. You can keep a journal of things that happen over the course of the year and it too has a grocery list organizer. Everything that is offered on this site is all FREE and printable. Love it!!!

Free Grocery List Helper...

For those of you like me out there who stink at making a grocery list. Scott Brand Products has a grocery list tool on there, where you can add items that are already pre-loaded and you can even add your own items if you don't seem them on there. After putting your items on the list, hit the print button and it will spit out your list for you to head out to the store. On the page, it says to either sign in or join now, guess what you don't have to do either of them. Just start compiling your list, print it out, and start shopping. WOOHOO!!!

I have been looking at the SmartShopper, but don't want to spend the money on it so, here is your FREE way of getting an electronic grocery list. The Scott Brand Grocery List Tool will also categorize just as the SmartShopper does. It is great to save so much money!!! LOVE IT!

Been a while...

I know that it has been a while since I posted on here, but I have been re-organizing the house (well, organizing it for the first time, at least...) It is basically done, but I still have been hitting the deals up and finally have my stockpile up and running. WOOHOO!!! Thanks to Heather with Pinch that Penny 'til it Screams, she will be helping me to utilize my stockpile to my advantage with some new recipes and meal planning. I can't wait for tomorrow for this to happen. I am not a meal planner, but I will soon be reformed. LOL!! I just have to learn the tricks of the trade. As I try new recipes, I will post them and let you all know what I thought of them.


Today, was spent redoing the good ole stockpile to work for me and well, I had to an inventory first on it. So, I have posted my inventory in a google doc for anyone who wants to see how I set it up. It can be seen here.

MY BIG BOY BREAKING A WORLD RECORD!!!

Walgreens Ending Easy Saver Program...

According to Thifty Florida Mama the Walgreens Easy Saver Program will be ending in April. They will be going strictly to Register Rewards and reprogramming their cash registers to handle coupons more like Target's do where the coupon attaches directly to each product.

This is also going to effect how the returns without a receipt are handled. If you don't have your receipt you will receive the lowest price the item has sold for over the previous 4 weeks and returns with a receipt that used coupons will have the amount of the coupon deducted from the refunded amount.

So sad to see it go...
